COST: $249 plus $100 per 1000 words (±10% word count) What you get is:
which you may download or which can be mailed to you on CD. You may publish and distribute the recording at will. In other words, you own it, because this is a work-for-hire contract. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Dawn is a "reader." She reads the story as a "reader." She doesn't dramatize the story. If you want a dramatization, you might ask over at Well Told Tales. They can point you in the direction of voice actors who do that kind of work. You can hear several stories here for examples of Dawn's reading performances. If this isn't the kind of reading you want, please don't submit your manuscript for our review. "Review?" you ask. Yes. Dawn and Forrest review all manuscripts before deciding if they feel she can do justice to the story. GENRES ACCEPTED:
NON-FICTION GENRES ACCEPTED
UNACCEPTABLE CONTENT: No erotica, no porn, no stories which promote hate, cruelty, or unethical behavior and attitudes as acceptable, and no Freddy-type gore stuff, please. (Yes, sex scenes are okay, and so is violence if it isn't excessive and unnecessarily graphic, key word unnecessary.) HOW TO SUBMITSend your manuscript plus $10 "I'm serious" money to the email address you'll be given after visiting PayPal. You'll hear from us within five working days. If we feel that we can do it, we'll email an invoice with our acceptance and further instructions. Your $10 "serious" money will be applied to your bill if and when both parties agree to finalize the contract. (This $10 payment is, however, non-refundable because it takes our time to read and evaluate, then discuss whether we feel we can perform your story well.) Here's the submission button. You'll be taken to PayPal, then delivered to the how-and-where-to-submit page. AFTER YOUR MANUSCRIPT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED You'll need to send along any instructions, including pronunciation irregularities. You will also need to include any introductory material and end matter you want included in the recording. Pronunciation We'll need a pronunciation guide if certain names or words aren't in a standard unabridged dictionary or if you have a preferred pronunciation of words which have alternative pronunciations. This includes your own name if it has an uncommon pronunciation. (The wikipedia has a nice easy guide here.) Of course, you can always record your pronunciations into an MP3 file using your computer. The file doesn't have to be good, just usable for reference, so don't worry about quality. |
