space fiction: by, for, and about ALIENS.
science fiction & slipstream author
Says Aeros, “If you want humans, well, there are a few sprinkled in here and there, but, true to Reality, mostly they’re the “bad guys.”
An Interview with Aeros
Interviewer: You come off as a bit terse in the bio you sent us, so we thought we’d hear for ourselves who you are, and why and what you write. That said, tell us about this “by, for, and about aliens?”
Aeros: [Laughing] I tell people my stories are written by, for, and about aliens, but, actually, I’m as human as the next guy…or gal. I just enjoy the hell out of turning it all around and making the humans the bad guys, the closed-minded and startled. I am so totally sick of aliens portrayed as one-sided assholes with the humans as the victim and, ultimately…usually, the heros. Our universe has to have a better example of intelligence out there somewhere, and, maybe, everywhere. Maybe we’ve been isolated…for their good, for their peace of mind. I mean, we are in many ways a totally disreputable animal, though we do have many good points…if we could just get over ourselves.
Interviewer: Your stories and books?
Aeros: I like to stretch the possibilites. I like to ask, what’s beyond the limits of our perceptions of reality. So I write about stretching possibilities. My shorts are, basically, small incursions into my warped mind — snapshots of images inside it. My books? What I do is make universes populated with myriad species, each one different, each one unique. But each has one commonality with us and with each other — emotion. Everyone experiences emotion. That, to me, is the defining expression of being.
