Martin Crompton

Science Fiction / Humor

author Martin Crompton

“I don’t do Mission Statements, apart from:  ‘Work harder.’  The only epithet I truly believe in is that imagination is a muscle — the more you work it, the better it gets.  Boundaries must be pushed!”

Martin Crompton outweirds many, but not all, authors.  No genre is safe, and he writes as much to surprise himself as his readers.  Once described as an intellectual, it only proves how naive Humanity can be.  When he’s feeling low, dark humour flows.  When he’s high, entire species die in their billions — in agony.

Story List

The Friendless Frog by Martin Crompton

Humour / Science Fiction short story

Editor:  zentao

My Boss is a Vampire by Martin Crompton

Genre fans, your favourite trope must be here somewhere.  Rocky Horror meets Barbarella meets Dracula meets…. Question is:  Can Dave get what s/he wants?  (Science Fiction / Horror / Humour)

Editor’s Note:  Oh my, what an adventure.  Martin has done it again — given us a story of such humour, such insight, and, of course, logical progression, that I am cowed by his brilliance.  Heh.  Enjoy, whatever genre you prefer — there’s certainly something here for everyone.  —womblin

Raising the Stakes by Martin Crompton

When cosmic forces get bored, Earth’s fate is up to Charlie.  (Science Fiction/Humor)

Editor’s Note:  A brilliantly rendered bit, and all too relevant, Crompton’s work is rich and quick.  —zentao

RTFM by Martin Crompton

When a “Regurgitator class battle vessel” lands on top of the 1957 Chevy parked out front in your used car lot, what do you do?  Why, any good salesman should know the answer to that one!  (Science Fiction / Humour)

Editor’s Note:  Martin Crompton brings us his tongue stuck firmly in cheek again with this journey into the relentlessly calculating mind of a used-car salesman.  Funny, yet so very human, RTFM is a very good read indeed.   —womblin
