Spiritual-Paranormal short stories and novels
Deanne Devine is a corn-fed, Ohio-bred writer. Several of her short stories were published in small press magazines during the 1990s, but for most of this century she has focused on her novel Live Armadillos, which was released in November of 2005. Now that the excitement has died down, Deanne is again writing short stories, and is working on a film treatment for Live Armadillos.
Live Armadillos was published in the fall of 2005 by The Lighthouse Press, a small traditional publisher in the U.S. The novel follows determined, hard-hearted Dana Elliot and accommodating, soft-hearted Helen Weaver as they navigate a difficult year that culminates with the potential loss of their neighborhood to make room for a highway.

Deanne Devine Short Stories
Bliss by Deanne Devine
Jack cheated death before. The cost: a friend and mobility. But now a new friend, one who makes Jack look beyond a life of self-induced social torpor, is offering him a different escape — Bliss. Can it really be as good as Ivy says it is? And at what cost, this time? (Paranormal-Spiritual)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Can memory be a place? Deanne Devine asks this question through Jack, her injured protagonist. Injured physically, but blinded emotionally, can he see what is obvious before it’s too late? The questions raised here are subtle, yet many. I simply love this story. Enough said. Read and enjoy. —Womblin
