Kevin P. Keating grew up in the rough and tumble town of Cleveland, Ohio where he has labored at many jobs, including boilermaker, landscaper, painter, beauty pageant judge, and bookie’s apprentice. He turned down a job offer to become the new press secretary for the mayor of Cleveland, deciding instead to teach composition courses at Baldwin-Wallace College, a career that tries his patience as well as his sanity. His fiction and essays have appeared in a number of literary journals, most notably Fringe Magazine, Megaera, Double Dare Press, Perigee, Exquisite Corpse, The Spillway Review, The Oklahoma Review, The Fifth Street Review, The Plum Ruby Review, Tattoo Highway, Fiction Warehouse, and many others.
