“Just a little taste?”

Jen let a cry escape her lips as she backed away from her new husband.  She shook her head, denying the sight before her.  “N…no!”  she breathed, scrambling for the scissors on the honeymoon suite dresser behind.

“You heard the vicar…”

Michael advanced.  The glistening strip of skin he’d sliced from his chest, exposing bone, spotting crimson the white of her gown.

“ ‘…For she was taken from man…’ ”

He grinned bloody teeth, his eyes dark, depthless.

“ ‘…And they shall become one….’ ”

You and me, Jen…one flesh.  Just a taste, my love.  …Then it’s my turn.”
