Narrative Magazine Needs Donations

It’s the same old story, the same old song. Writers write, writers read…to test the market, writers submit. Writer’s don’t subscribe…or at least not enough of them do. Genuine readers? There are a few. So money going out doesn’t equal money coming in and money needed to sustain the publication and its payments to writers.SUBSCRIBE, DONATE, SEND MONEY. NOW WOULD BE A GREAT TIME.
Here’s the note from Narrative I got today. It’s cute, but it’s also a cry for supporting dollars.
Thanks to donors like you, Narrative’s numbers have multiplied to 3.5 million hits a month. We now publish more fiction writers and poets than The New Yorker. And to think we give the magazine away free of charge!
As literary publishing shrinks into the Jurassic Age, Narrative Magazine welcomes the digital age with a new site that features Story of the Week, Poem of the Week, Letters to a Young Writer, Best Advice, cartoons, graphic stories, photography, plus a host of new features we’ve only begun to dream up.
But to sustain the magazine, to pay our writers and artists, we need your support. Narrative is made possible by the tireless dedication of our staff and of volunteers located all across the U.S. and abroad, and by the generous support of individual donors and readers like you.
Won’t you please make a tax-deductible donation today?
Help us to continue the tradition of great stories around the fire . . . for ages to come.
