The Cocktail Hours, a novel by Margaret Rose LesterInsider’s novel journeys into what it takes to make it in Hollywood

In The Cocktail Hours by Margaret Rose Lester, a young actress tries to crack the “boys club” of Hollywood while working as a cocktail waitress

The Cocktail Hours by Margaret Rose Lester explores the day-in and day-out experiences of a young waitress who must decide how much of her soul she’s willing to sell for success.

It was Lester’s dream, like many girls, to come to Hollywood and become a star. She supported herself as a cocktail waitress while waiting for her big break, and in her novel The Cocktail Hours, she takes readers behind the scenes of glittery Los Angeles to show what can happen to dreams-and to dreamers-when success is elusive.

Lester tells the story of Charlie Sommers, a Stanford graduate who wants to be a star, but navigating the vapid terrain of celebrity-conscious Los Angeles isn’t easy. When she scores a job as a cocktail waitress and meets a movie star manager, she thinks she’s on her way, but she may have to exchange her pride and self-respect for stardom. Lester has penned a coming-of-age tale that takes on the balancing act people do while searching for their identity.

The Cocktail Hours is available for sale online at Amazon.com, BookSurge.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
