Just Like Brothers…Summer Adventures is the second book in this Just Like Brothers series due out just days from now in July. Just as the two boys look forward to having a whole summer of exploration and fun, they find out about Bobby’s dad’s plan for him and his little sister. The boys’ joy turns to sadness until the “barber shop guys” put their scheme into action, with an even bigger surprise waiting to enter the lives of this delightful twosome. Again, the combination of engaging full-color illustrations on every page by internationally-known artist James Lynch, along with Rudell Kopp’s ability to evoke emotion in an endearing fashion, makes this a must-read for people of all ages. The Just Like Sisters series will be released in the fall of 2009 with Just Like Brothers…The Beat Goes On to follow.
REVIEWS
“This second book, Just Like Brothers…Summer Adventures, continues the tale of two unlikely friends, Maurice and Bobby. Ms. Kopp has captured the personalities and actions of two seven-year-old boys and with the delightful illustrations of Mr. Lynch, we are drawn into the adventures they encounter.
“The Just Like Brothers series is not afraid to tackle issues that kids like Maurice and Bobby face in their daily lives. Through the eyes and lives of these two little boys, readers can understand how a village, through caring involvement, can help raise a child. We certainly look forward to seeing what will happen next as the boys continue to grow up facing and resolving the challenges of their different lives.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rudell’s goal of “making a difference in children’s lives” has been achieved through her teaching of art and cultural studies in several private elementary schools. Being a self-described “idealistic realist,” her personal mantra has always been “why can’t we all just get along?!” Her inspiration for the Just Like Brothers series comes from her hope that people everywhere will look within themselves and reach out to others, despite differences. Children are the message bearers of this vision…it is up to us to listen with open minds and hearts.
