New book delves into sex and spirituality in Sag Harbor.
Seduction of a Wanton Dreamer by Richard Beeson features a midlife crisis that leads to an unexpected spiritual awakening.
Seduction of a Wanton Dreamer, a novel by Richard Beeson, explores the personal journey of a man struggling to come to grips with middle age-a journey that takes many unexpected detours. When musician Tony Fellows leaves New York City to relax in Sag Harbor, he finds himself challenged in unconventional ways by Loretta Whidby, his new landlady and unofficial guide to frontiers of sexual, mental and spiritual awakening.
“A mid-life crisis can trigger a reassessment not only of our daily lives but also of our relationships with ourselves, our spouses, our parents and ancestors and our place in the realm of faith and belief,” Beeson says. “The book is a riff on life, love, death, the dangerous honey trap of sex and the fuzzy boundary between dreams and reality.”
With Loretta’s help, Tony becomes less concerned with the passing cares of his day-to-day life and increasingly entangled in the spiritual world. Through this transformative experience, he is eventually able to communicate with his ancestors and contemplate, without fear, what it will be like to rejoin them.
Seduction of a Wanton Dreamer is available for sale online at Amazon.com, BookSurge.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
