It’s very hard in society today to continue to “trust” people.
I set out to expose a group of individuals with less than honorable
intentions and was along the way taken for another ride. This ride
took me again to foreign places. In fact, I might as well have been
on the moon. Like many other people thinking I could help someone
while yet helping myself may have been a little premature.
Writing, as you can guess takes alot of patience and most importantly
“Talent” and of course knowledge. Knowledge not just by the
writer but more importantly, the editor. In my case, I got the big
donut hole in the editing department. Where I set out to tell my
truthful account of a major wrong in social circles today,
it was with great disappointment to me, not everyone in the
publishing industry is out to publish quality. Together with others
with talent but in need of good quality editing I jumped toward the
new con; publishing or the lack there of.
Where is this going you may ask? In what I characterize as my newly
to be released short story, to my dismay and disappointment, again my editor, as she is called failed me. No doubt I am just one of many
in her past. If this short story was to be disgraced by simple
copy and paste motion and binding, could I have performed those
actions myself? Of course. However, not being sophiscated in the
arts of writing or publishing again I was taken in the wrong direction.
What have I learned to date? There are many wonderful and warm
caring writers out there willing and wanting to lend a hand in what
can only be described as “Generosity.” These people, Authors,
are willing to put aside insults, laughter, and humiliating remarks to
extend that helping hand to a unknown novice who just wanted to
have her say.
If I could go back in time and change things it would be the publisher.
But as they say, I’m stuck now and can only look forward to the
right direction in the future. So please do not judge the concept and
context of the message by the delivery of the product. Please do not
judge my writing, (as someone who does have something to say) by the delivery of the production. We all have a learning curve with any and all new passions. As I depended on someone else to do what I could not and they failed me this posting comes with a new and unsolicted “Warning Sign” and “Beware” of grammar, spelling, format, and all other red flags the editor would otherwise change. My change included none of the above but I am happy to say they did change many words and characters to have a very different meaning than originally written.
Maybe the auto-correct button malfunctioned while editing my new
and embarrassing short story. Starting out to address a very important issue in a serious but humorous context if you can look
beyond the obvious editing problems, it may still grab your attention.
