Today I’m going to explore the novels written by author Darcia Helle. I discovered her works by using Amazon.com’s advanced search, sampled the excerpts available, visited her website, and decided, yes, this author’s works seem well-written and worthy of further examination. My only complaint about the books, save Beyond Salvation, is the formatting of the text which seems in Hit List, Enemies and Playmates, and No Justice to be rather inexpert. I found my short reads of all but Beyond Salvation to be disturbed by lack of scene breaks, lack of edge-to-edge justification, and errors in paragraphing tabs. Everything else–writing, cover art, blurbs–seems to speak well for this author’s work.

Hit List

SYNOPSIS
Sanity is not something you lose, like your car keys or that elusive sock in the dryer. That’s what Ian believed before his mother stepped over the edge from sane to crazy. No one is able to give Ian a reasonable explanation. Corinne suffers from severe memory loss, odd behavior, and paranoid delusions. Or at least Ian had been told they were delusions. After all, who would be hiding outside watching his mother? And why? Ian hires private investigator Lucianna Martel to retrace the events of his mother’s last sane day. During Lucianna’s investigation, she and Ian learn that Corinne may not be so crazy after all.

SYNOPSIS
How far would you go to right a wrong? For Michael Sykora, killing started as blind rage. Then it became something he’s good at. When Nicki, a close friend, gets into trouble, Michael steps in to help. Having lost his fiance to a brutal crime, Michael will do whatever necessary to keep from losing another woman in his life. At one time or another, don’t we all wish we could do the things our Justice system cannot or will not? What would it take to push you over the edge?

ABOUT AUTHOR DARCIA HELLE
I write because my head gets cluttered with characters that demand their story be written.
I am a fiction author of mystery/suspense. Words are my addiction. I will read just about anything: novels, biographies, history, sociology, ingredient labels…
I grew up in Massachusetts but have lived in the Tampa Bay area of Florida since 2002. I’m married to a great guy who puts up with my craziness. My two sons are grown up, one off on his own and one still at home. We have 2 very spoiled dogs and 2 equally spoiled cats.
My website – http://www.QuietFuryBooks.com – is my own creation. I hope you’ll visit me there.
And, yes, I know that I should be writing this in the third person, as most authors (or their agents) do. However, it seemed a bit odd to be writing about myself as if I’m someone else talking about me. This may not come across as a “professional” biography. But this is who I am.
I hope you enjoy the travels that my characters take you on!
