Earth Strike, a science fiction novel by Ian Douglas
The first book in the epic saga of humankind’s war of transcendence

There is a milestone in the evolution of every sentient race, a Tech Singularity Event, when the species achieves transcendence through its technological advances. Now the creatures known as humans are near this momentous turning point.

But an armed threat is approaching from deepest space, determined to prevent humankind from crossing over that boundary—by total annihilation if necessary.

To the Sh’daar, the driving technologies of transcendent change are anathema and must be obliterated from the universe—along with those who would employ them. As their great warships destroy everything in their path en route to the Sol system, the human Confederation government falls into dangerous disarray. There is but one hope, and it rests with a rogue Navy Admiral, commander of the kilometer-long star carrier America, as he leads his courageous fighters deep into enemy space towards humankind’s greatest conflict—and quite possibly its last.

New sci-fi novels explores Earth’s mysterious past

Ethan: Site 39 by Otis V. Goodwin is the first in a new four-part science fiction series set thousands of years in the future. More than 5,000 years removed from a near-complete devastation of the planet, Goodwin’s novel writes of Earth’s inhabitants that have lost all record of life before the destruction – until a young farmer makes a startling discovery that leads him to Site 39.

“The series blends real science with dramatic themes to tell a story,” Goodwin says. “It discusses how humankind is an important but tiny element in the grand scheme of things, and even our universe is but a small part.”

While exploring a mesa near his farm, Ethan MX163 finds a tiny artifact from the Old Earth civilization. The discovery is the first tangible evidence found of a forgotten society since a small colony of Alpha Centaurian humans landed on earth three generations before. Ethan’s discovery soon leads him and his fiancé, Laine, to Site 39, a treasure-trove of unexplained mysteries that reveal Earth’s dangerous past. Exploring Site 39’s ancient contents lead Ethan, Laine and their friends through a maze of surprises with promises of greater adventures and challenges to come.

Ethan: Site 39 is available for sale online at Amazon.com, BookSurge.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.

Sci-Fi Sequel Fuses Futuristic Asteroid Mission with Reality

Site 39: Blue Orb by author Otis V. Goodwin III travels to space for the second time to save Earth.

The adventure and science-fiction novel Site 39: Blue Orb by Otis V. Goodwin, III is a follow-up to his first book, Ethan: Site 39, which Goodwin says he created due to reader demand.

The fictional Site 39: Blue Orb story line is set in the 22nd century around a cast of characters called on to carry out a mission in the center of the Milky Way Galaxy after an asteroid destroyed nearly all of Earth’s civilization – and before history repeats itself 5,000 years later.

But in reality, the underlying threat the impact of an asteroid could have on our planet today, says Goodwin, is “seriously on the minds of scientist and government personnel…the parallel between the Site 39 series story line and my life is experiencing things and events during my adult career in military missile and space programs of the United States that I could only imagine as a youngster.”

About the Author

Otis V. Goodwin is a retired contract specialist in missile and space aeronautics programs with the federal government. A native of Birmingham, Ala., Goodwin earned degrees in history and business before concentrating on science as a career. Goodwin’s second novel in the series, Site 39: Blue Orb is now available.
